This is one of our best producers with a large, dark brown, seeds that peels very well. Silverleaf Chestnuts have a smaller tree form. Very good pollinator, starting early with early ripening. In California some of it's largest nuts have split husks, but that hasn't been a problem here in Washington. May be Japanese X European X Chinkapin. Also known as Eurobella Chestnut. |

Aromatic evergreen tree native to Oregon and California. Also known as Myrtlewood. Oregon Bay Laurel is a shade tolerant tree that grow to about 20 ft. a good choice for screening. Leaves can be used fresh or dried in soups and stews, much more potent than store bought bay leaves, use only half as much. Hard and heavy durable wood. Hardy to -7 F. Seeds sold in husks. |
