One of the great experiences of summer is biting into a freshly harvested juicy, melting, luscious peach. On average, the peach trees we offer are hardy to Zone 5 and have been selected to perform better in northern states and the Pacific Northwest. Most are self-fertile and do not require another tree to produce fruit. However having several varieties can extend the season over several months. Peach blossoms are superb in spring with light to bright vivid pink or white flowers.

Harvest should begin only when fruit begins to soften so that full flavor and sweetness is developed. Which is why homegrown, tree ripened peaches will taste better than store-bought fruits picked under ripe for ease of shipping, a common practice since they bruise so easily. Peaches tend to grow quickly and fruit at a young age. They will do best in sunny, well drained sites with good air flow. Many of our northern origin varieties such as Contender, Polly, Veteran, and Reliance are not only more winter hardy, but also later blooming in spring which helps them to escape late frosts.
