Large, sweet fruited, heavy bearing selection. Very early spring bloom, a mass of yellow star-shaped flowers before its leaves. Red, edible, sweet pear-shaped fruits appear in late summer. Nice fruit for fresh eating and use in pies. Will attract wildlife. Reddish-purple fall color. Grows over 10 ft. Needs acidic, rich, well-drained soil. Elegant™ is a Ukrainian Cornelian Cherry Dogwood variety. Resistant to anthracnose. Plant two varieties for cross-pollination and to ensure good crops. Hardy to -30° F. Zone 4-8.

Full sun, balanced moisture, mildly acidic soils and good drainage. Remove infrequent suckers to control spread. Late season ripening. Ripe fruits don't drop down and stay on the tree.
