Small deciduous tree, typically to 15-30', low-branching, broadly-pyramidal but somewhat flat topped habit. Cherokee Brave Flowering Dogwood has reddish new growth and large, late blooming dark pink to red flowers. Known for its disease resistance. Great fall leaf color.

Full to 1/2 sun in hotter areas, regular balanced moisture, mildly acidic soils and good drainage and lots of organic matter. Benefits from 2-4" of mulch to drip line to conserve root moisture. Prune for shape during dry weather. Not for human consumption
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Good for Cornus florida. Some resistance to anthracnose and dogwood borer. Plants are also susceptible to powdery mildew, leaf spot, canker, root rot and leaf and twig blight. Prefers good air movement to keep leaves healthy.
