An evergreen selection with especially brilliant pink new growth in spring gradually turning green. It has an abundance of black berries in early fall.
ZONE: 6-9
POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Blooms in May and partially self-fertile, but will produce more fruit with a second variety of evergreen huckleberry nearby.
RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Can grow in the sun but really loves to be grown in shade in moist, well-drained soils. Requires minimal pruning, but you should always focus on removing dead or crossed branches in late spring after flowering. This will maintain its shape and encourage healthy new growth and berry production. To preserve the variegated appearance, prune away branches that have reverted back to green foliage.
CHILL HOURS: Needs 1000 chill hours.
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Pest and disease resistant.
SIZE AT MATURITY: 3-4ft in height under full sun and 6-8ft in height in the shade.
