Black Walnuts have a strong, rich flavor. They taste great in a sweet such as cookies, cake, or ice cream. They have twice the protein of an English Walnut. The in-shell nuts are from named varieties with relatively thin shells and really plump kernels. The Master Cracker or a pair of vice grips is recomended for cracking these nuts.
