Big Fruit is the largest fruiting variety of the Cornelian Cherry Dogwoods. Dark red fruits can be used in tarts, pies, and jams or eaten fresh.

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Early-spring. Partially self-fruitful; will set more with another seedling or variety of cornus mas. Does not cross-pollinate with other cornus species.
RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Full sun, balanced moisture, mildly acidic soils and good drainage. Remove infrequent suckers to control spread. Plant has a habit of low branching - can be pruned up to show off interesting exfoliating bark if desired. Late season ripening.
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Good. Resistant to verticillium wilt.
