French hybrid, dark red wine grape. Small berries in small, compact clusters, yet fairly productive. Baco Noir Grape makes a heavy, highly colored wine, requiring long aging. Grown commercially in New York, the Midwest and the Northwest. Unfermented juice tastes like blackberry.

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Highly vigorous in deep, well-drained soil. Not particular about pH or acidity but thrive in heavy soils. Grow best in 6-9 hours of full sun. Need strong support, such as a fence or trellis, to grow upwards. Prune during the dormant season by removing 80-90% of last seasons canes. Early pruning can damage buds.
CHILL HOURS: Most grapes require 150 hours.
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Highly susceptible to Black rot, slightly susceptible to Downy mildew, moderately susceptible to powdery mildew, moderately susceptible to Botrytis.
SIZE AT MATURITY: 10-20ft in height, 2-3ft spread.
