Especially flavorful fruit, large dark red berries that ripen midseason. McFarlin Cranberry will grow in peat, sandy, or clay soil if acidic with adequate moisture. If you don't have such a soil, get some peat moss and create a bed for them. They are second only to blueberries in anti-aging, disease fighting antioxidants. Cranberry consumption also prevents urinary tract infections.

Active growing occurs from April to November. Mulch with plastic or leaves during dormancy to reduce damage from freezing and/or drying, especially in areas with intermittent snow. Add 1" sand every few years to cover ground-laying vines; helps strengthen producing uprights.
