Evergreen, woody groundcover typically 6-12" in height by 6 feet wide with dark-green, oval leaves and reddish-brown bark. Native and widely distributed across northern North America, from Alaska to Maine and from California to Virginia. Massachusetts kinnikinnick grows well in dry, rocky open areas and disturbed sites. Helps stabilize soil and provides habitat for beneficial insects and birds.
