A red flowering strain of Rosa rugosa selected for its tolerance of poor soils and high salt conditions, widely used in sand dune and beach stabilization projects. Sandy produces large edible hips.

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Mid-May through early July. Self-fertile. Often blooms again in fall.
RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Full to 1/2 sun, balanced moisture, reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly. Prune as needed to control spread and manage height, etc
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Very good.
