Friday July 14th from 10 -11:30 am – Designing Your Edible Landscape
We will discuss how to plan gardens and home orchards and ways to add trees, shrubs, and vines to your existing landscape. We'll also touch on planting for pollination, nitrogen fixation, and mulching.
Monday July 17th from 10 – 11:30 am – Kids Day: Projects for the Whole Family
Learn about how your fruit grows, the importance of pollinators and other beneficial bugs, and how we can all contribute to a healthy environment! Recommended for kids of all ages and fun for the whole family.

Join Burnt Ridge founder Michael Dolan for a discussion of the vast number of apple varieties that grow well in the Pacific Northwest and how to grow them organically. He will also talk about the amazing Monty Surprise apple, a Burnt Ridge exclusive release, and the process of importing new plant varieties from abroad.

Wednesday September 13th from 1- 2:30 pm – Rare and Underappreciated Fruit Trees
(Rescheduled from Friday, Sept 1st)
We'll discuss the wide world of "unusual" and underappreciated fruits, including quince, medlar, persimmon, mulberry and the elusive Sorbus domestica (aka "chocolate pear"). We will also talk about the benefits of planting rare trees and what you can do with the fruit.
Friday September 15th from 1 – 2:30 pm – Land Transition
Clearing land and tillage can be very disturbing to soil profiles and fertility. We’ll look at small scale techniques to lessen soil disruption when converting shrubland, logged sites, or pasture to orchards and gardens. Presented by Michael Dolan, founder of Burnt Ridge Nursery.
Sunday September 24th 1 – 2:30 pm – All About Nuts - **SOLD OUT**
Learn about growing nut trees in the Pacific Northwest, including chestnut, black walnut, and hazelnut. We will also discuss planting nut trees for their valuable timber and their crop value as a source of protein. Presented by Michael Dolan, founder of Burnt Ridge Nursery.
