 Detailed Description

Dark reddish purple fruit that is sweet, firm and very flavorful. Blooms late and is very productive. Macoun Apple is known to be highly fireblight resistant. A hybrid of McIntosh x Jersey Black. Zone 4.

ZONE:  4-9

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full sun, balanced moisture, reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly. Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest.  Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Spur bearer. Fruit set is heavy, so thin ruthlessly.  Late season ripening.

CHILL HOURS:  1000-1200 hours below 45F                      

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Good. Highly fireblight resistant.
