 Detailed Description

Large, sweet, dark red fruits on a self-pollinating tree. Fruit size is a little larger than Bing or Lapins, and has very good cracking resistance. A WSU selection, Glacier cherry has proven to be especially well adapted to cooler maritime regions.

ZONE:  5-9

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full sun, balanced moisture. Reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly. Be prepared to offer water in dry summer areas.  Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Spur bearer. Cut new growth by half each year to keep tree compact. Fruits on 1 year old + wood. Early season ripening.

CHILL HOURS:  700-1000 chill hours below 45F                

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Good.

SIZE AT MATURITY:  Dwarf - 8' x 12'| Semi Dwarf – 10-16' x 15'| Standard – 20' x 20'
