 Detailed Description

A red oak with glossy green, pointed leaves that turn deep red with fall color. Tree has rounded open habit. Drops edible acorns ½ -1" long. Hardy and disease-resistant. Prefers drier areas. Scarlet oak is native to Missouri.

ZONE: 4-9

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Spring

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full sun, dry acidic, sandy soils. No standing water. Drought tolerant once established.

DISEASE RESISTANCE: Good. Subject to many diseases, but usually outgrows all of them.

SIZE AT MATURITY: To 50-70' tall and wide
