Rosa rugosa plants are very thorny and make an excellent hedge. It has large, beautiful flowers throughout most of the summer. The leaves of are attractive and the plants are hardy and disease resistant. 

The rose hips of Rosa rugosa can be nibbled on fresh as an excellent source of vitamin C, made into jelly, or dried for use as a tea. Zone 2-9.
