 Detailed Description

A showy Pacific Northwest native shrub that grows to about 5-10 ft. Stunning red tubular flowers in early spring that are visited by hummingbirds and butterflies. Songbirds will eat the fruits of Red Flowering Currant. Sun or shade.

ZONE:  4-9

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME:  Very early. Self-fertile.

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full to 1/4 sun, balanced moisture, reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly. Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Spur bearer.

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Very good. Subject to rust in very hot locations.

SIZE AT MATURITY:  5-10' x 3-5'
