 Detailed Description

Provence quince rootstock is used for dwarfing pears and also as a rootstock for quince. 3/16 to 1/4 inches caliper.

ZONE: 6-8. Hardy to -10F.

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Depends on scion.

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full sun, balanced moisture, reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly. Prefers mildly acidic soils. Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest.

CHILL HOURS: n/a hours below 45F.

DISEASE RESISTANCE: Average. Resistant to crown gall, pear decline and nematodes, but sensitive to fireblight. Can show chlorosis in some Euro pear varieties.

SIZE AT MATURITY: 17-20’ x 14’
