 Detailed Description

Classic red wine grape of Burgundy, France. Does best in Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. Pinot Noir # 71 Grape is the earliest clone of the Pinot Noir with the potential to ripen in Western Washington.

ZONE: 5-9

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Self-fertile

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full sun, balanced moisture, reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly. Needs regular pruning to encourage fruit and control vine size. Dormant prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Spur bearer.  Fruit forms from first 3 buds on last year's growth.

CHILL HOURS: 100 hours below 45F                                                        

DISEASE RESISTANCE: Good. Resistant to phylloxera.

SIZE AT MATURITY: To  20' x 10'
