RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Full sun, balanced moisture to start, reduce grass competition in root zone. Very sun-sensitive, so keep top pruned short to guarantee sun penetration to lower branches. Drought-tolerant once established. Tolerates poor soils well. Dislikes simultaneous heat and humidity. Top dress with compost or decayed leaf mulch. Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Fruits on old wood.
CHILL HOURS: 400 hours below 45F
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Good if summers are NOT warm and humid, West Coast and dry SW locations are best. Prone to fungal disease in humid summer regions.
