 Detailed Description

An older Italian variety, Leccino Olive Trees are now being grown commercially on a limited scale in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Olives are large, flavorful and ripen early on a relatively hardy tree. For warm summer areas. Zone 8-10.

ZONE:  8-10

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME:  Possibly self-fertile, better production with cross-pollination by another variety.

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full sun, consistent heat, good drainage with balanced moisture. Reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly.  Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Late season ripening. Needs regular heat to set fruit. Starts bearing 2-3 years after planting.

CHILL HOURS:  300 hours below 45F                    

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Good.

SIZE AT MATURITY:  20’ x 12’
