 Detailed Description

Very late, yellow green sweet / tart apple.  Commercially, it is harvested before it's fully ripe when it is still green, hard, and tart.  Granny Smith Apples are known to be highly nutritious. Zone 5-9.

ZONE:  5-9

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME:  Mid blooming. Self-fertile - but will produce better with another apple variety nearby.  For appropriate cross pollination click HERE

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full sun, balanced moisture, reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly. Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest.  Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Tip bearer.  Late season ripening.

CHILL HOURS:  400-600 hours below 45F                           

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Average. Moderately susceptible to fire blight and highly prone to scab, powdery mildew, and cedar apple rust.
