 Detailed Description

A shade tolerant, evergreen shrub native to the coastal northwest. Edible shiny black, blueberry-like fruit in fall. Cut Evergreen Huckleberry branches are popularly used in floral arrangements. Needs acidic soils. Grows to about 2-3 ft. in sun and 6 ft. in shade.

ZONE:  5-8

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME:  Late season.

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full sun to full shade, balanced moisture, reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost or forest duff yearly. Can be easily sheared for formal look.

CHILL HOURS:  0 hours below 45F.

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Excellent.

SIZE AT MATURITY:  to 6' x 6' slowly.
