Large, sweet fruited, heavy bearing selection. Very early spring bloom, a mass of yellow star-shaped flowers before its leaves. Red, edible, sweet pear-shaped fruits appear in late summer. Nice fruit for fresh eating and use in pies. Will attract wildlife. Reddish-purple fall color. Grows over 10 ft. Needs acidic, rich, well-drained soil. Elegant™ is a Ukrainian Cornelian Cherry Dogwood variety. Resistant to anthracnose. Plant two varieties for cross-pollination and to ensure good crops. Hardy to -30° F.

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Early mid-blooming. Partially self-fruitful; will set more with another seedling or variety of cornus mas. Does not cross-pollinate with other cornus species.
RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Full sun, balanced moisture, mildly acidic soils and good drainage. Remove infrequent suckers to control spread. Late season ripening. Ripe fruits don't drop down and stay on the tree.
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Very good. Resistant to anthracnose.
