Cranberries are low growing, spreading, evergreen ground covers with wiry stems and pink flowers. They produce large red fruits with an excellent tart flavor.
They will grow in peat, sandy, or clay soil if acidic with adequate moisture. If you don't have such a soil, get some peat moss and create a bed for them.
They are second only to blueberries in anti-aging, disease fighting antioxidants. Cranberry consumption is said to prevent urinary tract infections.
