 Detailed Description

Genetic dwarfing form of the self-fertile Stella variety. Only growing to about 8-10ft. Dark, heart shaped fruit of good quality, similar to Lambert. Not as crack resistant as Lapins. Compact Stella Cherry is low chill, so it can fruit in the South.

ZONE:  4-8

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full to 1/2 sun, balanced moisture. Reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly.  Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Spur bearer. Cut new growth by half each year to keep tree compact. Fruits on 1 year old + wood. Early season ripening.

CHILL HOURS:  700-800 chill hours below 45F                   

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Good.

SIZE AT MATURITY:  Dwarf - 8' x 12'| Semi Dwarf – 10-16' x 15'| Standard – 20' x 20'
