 Detailed Description

Marionberry flavor on high-yielding thornless trailing cane. Columbia Star Blackberry has vigorous, large size fruit that is firm, very uniform shape, and has outstanding flavor and processing quality. High yielding. One of the newest thornless and trailing varieties to have Marionberry-or-better flavor.

ZONE:  6-9

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME:  Early season.

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full to 3/4 sun, balanced and regular moisture (especially in summer), acid soils - add peat moss or sulfur to increase acidity as needed. Reduce grass competition in root zone by applying 2-3" layer of wood chips. Apply aged manure under chips yearly. Cut out dead canes after fruiting in fall. In late spring, thin new canes to 6-8 thickest per crown.

CHILL HOURS:  600 hours below 45F.

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Good.

SIZE AT MATURITY:  Floricanes are trailing and need support.
