 Detailed Description

Oval blue plums used exclusively for jam, jellies & sauces.  Fruit is small, freestone, tart & produced in great abundance. Blue Damson plum is a late blooming & very dependable plum tree.  Originated near Damascus, Syria prior to the 1st century B.C.  Self-fertile. Zone 4-9.

RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:

Full to 3/4 sun with balanced moisture.  Reduce grass competition in root zone.  Top dress with compost yearly.  Summer prune for airflow and ease of harvest.  Spur bearer with fruit throughout the tree.  Early mid-season ripening.

CHILL HOURS:  n/a chill hours below 45F                           

DISEASE RESISTANCE:  Good. Susceptible to bacterial canker.
