A new selection from New York that produces large clusters of unusually sweet, flavorful, early ripening, large berries. Black Diamond (TM) elderberries have a short, uniform harvest window and store well. It's a more compact shrub than other cultivars, averaging 5 foot high and 3 foot wide.

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Blooms large pink flowers in Summer.
RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Requires abundant, bright, and direct light. Water regularly but allow the soil to dry but still be moist in between. Do not prune an elderberry plant that is less than two years old. Late winter-early spring pruning is ideal.
CHILL HOURS: 100-300 hours.
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Susceptible to verticillim wilt and elder shoot borer.
SIZE AT MATURITY: Averages 5ft high and 3ft wide.
