CHINESE WALKING STICK BAMBOO (Qiongzhuea tumidissinoda)
Unique and rare bamboo with distict saucer shaped projecting nodes. Most bamboo have hollow canes, but this species has solid, very strong woody canes. For centuries the Yi people of Sichuan, China had a secretive monopoly on the production of walking sticks made from this plant. One of the most beautiful bamboos with long and narrow leaves hanging down in a tiered fashion on weeping branches. At its best in light shade and can tolerate dense shade. Height between 10-20 ft. Also known as Chimonobambusa tumidissinoda. WARNING: this is our most invasive bamboo. Plant it in a confined area or plan on cutting the roots as they spread, or better yet grow it in a pot. It is also the least hardy of our bamboos, to 10F. Evergreen. **SPREADING**
