DAWN REDWOOD SEEDLING(Metasequoia glyptostroboides)
This ancestral tree of the redwood was thought to be extinct and known only from fossils until in 1947 a small isolated grove was discovered in a remote part of China. Nice golden color in autumn before the leaves fall. Hardy to -30° F. Tolerant of moist sites and polluted air, fast growth to 90 ft. in 30 years.
