BALD CYPRESS SEEDLING (Taxodium distichum)
Native to the gulf region but very hardy and widely adapted. Wood exceedingly resistant to decay and insects. Will grow in standing water and is more ornamental under such conditions producing buttress-like knees at base of trunk. Fairly fast growth. Beautiful orange brown foliage in fall, before losing its leaves. Zone 4-9.
