VINE MAPLE (Acer circinatum)
A very colorful small multi-stemmed shrub or tree native to the Maritime Northwest. New growth in the spring has a reddish tinge, followed by small purple flower clusters. Paired winged seed pods in summer look like red bow ties. Brilliant orange and red fall colors. Hardy to -25° F.
