Dogwood Trees
All Pacific dogwoods should be planted in sunny locations with good air circulation to minimize disease problems. Avoid sprinkler irrigation.

PACIFIC DOGWOOD (C. nuttalli)
Our native west coast dogwood is the largest of all dogwoods, with large white flowers in spring and often again in the fall. Nice autumn foliage. Hardy to -30°F. Well rooted seedlings.

Large white flowers in June which last a month, followed by large strawberry red, edible but bland fruit. Scarlet leaves in the fall. Resistant to dogwood anthracnose and borers. Trees grow to 25 ft. Hardy to minus 20°F.

ORIENTAL DOGWOOD (Cornus kousa)
SATOMI RED DOGWOOD (Cornus kousa)
Grafted variety of Oriental dogwood with the disease resistance of C. kousa and pink to red flowers. Great fall colors. Grows to 20 ft. Hardy to minus 25 °F. The 2-3 ft size is well rooted, stocky, branched and will flower within the next year.

CORNELIAN CHERRY DOGWOOD (Cornus mas)
Very early spring bloom, a mass of yellow flowers before leaves appear, followed by edible red fruits in late summer. Reddish-purple fall color. Resistant to anthracnose. Grows to 20 ft. Hardy to minus 30° F. Fruit is eaten fresh & used in pies.

EVERGREEN DOGWOOD / SUMMER PASSION (Cornus capitata)
Similar to kousa dogwood, but evergreen and not as hardy. Glossy green leaves are coppery- red in spring, often red or purple in winter. Creamy white to yellow flower bracts in June, followed by 1 1/2" wide edible red berries in the fall. 20 ft. Full sun or part shade. Zone 6-9.
