Heath
Erica x darleyensis is the widely planted winter blooming heather which is actually heath. A great companion planting for blueberry, huckleberry, and all ericaceous or acid loving plants. When blooming in late winter or early spring, heaths come alive with the buzzing of bees. Blooms from late fall to spring. Shear lightly every 2-3 years when finished blooming in spring. Zone 5 (with protection) to Zone 8.

KRAMER'S RED HEATH (Erica x darleyensis)
Bushy plant, 14-15 inches high, spreading to 20-24 inches. Magenta blooms, January-April. Dark green foliage. It has the deepest red blooms of the bushy winter heathes.
