| Strawberry trees are small, ornamental, broadleafed evergreen trees with urn shaped clusters of white flowers in the fall. Orange and red fruit ripens from the previous year's bloom at the same time as the flowers. This makes a very colorful display. Red leaf stems support 4" long dark green leaves that look good year round. The ripe red fruits in October are about the size and color of strawberries, edible though of course not nearly so tasty. Grows to about 6-8 ft. in height and width at maturity. A sun lover, drought tolerant once established, adapted to acid or alkaline soils, disease and pest resistant. Zone 7-9. |
