Apple Berry
An evergreen vine with colorful, edible fruit. One inch long berries are sweet and have a flavor somewhat like kiwi, with small, dark, edible seeds. Two varieties are avaialble: a blue and a pink selection, with very shiny, colorful skin. These fruits would not look out of place as Christmas tree ornaments. Yellow/green flowers are self fertile on a compact vine. Will grow upright under partial shade, if supported , or have a tendancy to sprawl as a groundcover in direct sunlight. Can also be pruned and trained as a shrub, or as a container plant, either staked or as a hanging plant. The flowers attract nectar feeding birds and butterflies. Native to Tasmania, and hardy to about 10F.
